How to Create and Submit an Electronic Fish Ticket
If you’re a commercial fisherman or a fish receiver in California, submitting landing data via electronic fish tickets (E-Tix) is mandatory. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get started:
- Create an E-Tix Account: Visit the E-Tix website and request a new account. You’ll need to complete the registration process to access the system.
- Record Your Landing Data: Once logged in, enter the required information for each landing. This must be done within 3 business days. For specific fish like Pacific bluefin tuna or sablefish, submit within 24 hours.
- Submit Data via E-Tix: After entering the landing data, submit the form directly through the E-Tix platform.
- Handle Dock Tickets (If Needed): If you can’t submit immediately, use a dock ticket to record the data. This is not submitted to CDFW but must be kept for records.
